The Akure Gunners skipper is confident that his team will emerge champions of the Ondo State FA Cup final billed for Saturday in Akure
Captain of Sunshine Stars, Abe Sunday has assured that his team will emerge champions of the Ondo State Federation Cup final billed for the Akure Stadium on Sunday.
The Nigeria Premier League outfit will face amateur side Peace Makers for a chance to defend their trophy. Sunshine edged non-league side RCCG Zone FC 2-0 in the semi-final duel while Peace Maker upstaged Rising Stars Academy 5-4 on penalties after regulation time stood at 0-0.
According to the former Flying Eagles player, a win for his side is non-negotiable as it will boost their chances of winning more laurels before the end of the season.
“This is our season to win every cup available and the resolution start with the state FA Cup final game,” said Abe.
“We are determined so expect nothing short of outright victory against Peace Maker in the final at the weekend.
“Federation Cup competition itself is no respecter of Premier League side so we’re leaving no stone unturned to ensure we win convincingly", he said.
In the women’s category, Sunshine Queens FC will Rising Queens Academy to kick off before the male’s final and Queens skipper captain Shola Oyewusi is optimistic of winning the trophy.
"Rising Queens Academy will certainly give us a tough challenge but I’m confident we’ll beat them for the trophy", Sunshine Queens forward, Shola Oyewusi said.
The two finalists in the men and women categories will represent the state at the national level of the competition.
